Over the years the RRA has been given 2 Wallis & Steevens Motor Rollers, a number of Tar Boilers, and other road making equipment.
To ensure the long term future of the equipment it owns the RRA would like to place it on long term loan with Members or other suitable people/organisations.
One of the Wallis & Steevens Motor Rollers has been on long term loan with a Member for a number of years, and has been restored to full working condition.
The other Wallis & Steevens Motor Roller and some of the other equipment is shortly, during April 2013, to go on long term loan to a museum where it can be restored and used as part of a road making display.
Some of the other equipment is now available for Long Term Loan, to Members or other suitable organisations.
The following equipment is available to Members or other suitable organisations on long term loan :-
A Tar Boiler/Gritter, made by Macintosh Bros. of Granton, Edinburgh, is available for long term loan. If we are unable to find anyone to take the Tar Boiler/Gritter on long term loan then we may be prepared to make it available for sale.
The following photographs show the Tar Boiler/Gritter.
If you are a Member of the RRA and are interested in taking the Tar Boiler/Gritter on long term loan then please contact the RRA, via the "Contact the RRA" link on the Navigation bar.
